Jancis Robinson (18)

Bright wine red, clear hints of ripeness, large rim on the outside. Intoxicating bouquet, licorice, melted butter, red plums, nut pralines. Beautiful, sweet scent of ripe Merlot. The Cabernet spice comes in the second batch; Irish moss and icing-covered gingerbread, complemented by Earl Gray notes. Full on the palate, the wonderful aromas are repeated in the nose and the finale reminds me in a fascinating way of a blend of Henri Bonneau's Céléstine and a ripe Château Rayas. So on the palate it shows a lot of affinity with the Châteauneuf elite. The bottles on the market are different. This was my best experience yet with this great wine.
