The 1987 Cheval Blanc is a successful wine - for the vintage. The spicy, herbaceous, sweet nose is followed by a precocious, round, fruity, light-bodied wine without much grip or structure. It does possess delicious, weedy, curranty fruit buttressed by gobs of sweet, smoky oak.
A very tasty wine for current drinking. Medium ruby, with perfumed plum aromas; medium-bodied, with delicious poum flavors. light tannins and a medium finish.
Rene Gabriel rates this wine 16/20 points.
