Robert Parker (95)

The 2012 Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru, which is also under metayage of course, has an intense bouquet that is very complex, the limestone soils coming through with aeration, hints of small red berries, flinty aromas arriving late on the scene. The palate is very structured with forward tannins. It is interesting to compare this with Mugneret-Gibourg’s Ruchottes. This is more firm, more introspective and distant and will need several years before it reaches its drinking plateau. But the way it leaves the mouth gleefully tingling afterwards is entrancing.

Winespectator (95)

Bright and succulent, boasting spice, cherry, raspberry and mineral aromas and flavors. Walks a line between elegance and power, with firm, ripe tannins gracing the long finish.
