Mhoba 2017 is the result of a collaboration between Luca Gargano and the founder of Mhoba. Mhoba rum is produced from the sugar cane 'Nkomazi', which is grown on the adjacent farm next to the distillery in South Africa. The sugar cane is cut by hand and pressed by a self-developed mill. Mhoba 2017 has matured for 4 years in ex-bourbon casks at the distillery in South Africa, with an angel's share of over 22%. Bottled at cask strength.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Sweet and spicy. Vanilla, cloves, black pepper and smoky notes.
Taste: Concentrated and warm. Coffee beans and caramel.
Finish: Long. Cocoa and smoked wood.
