The inaugural installment of The Six Decades of Bond collection: DECADE I

The 1960s marked a defining era for James Bond, with the iconic spy making his silver screen debut in 1962, portrayed by the incomparable Sean Connery. Over the course of the next ten years, Connery starred in six films, with a brief hiatus for George Lazenby's appearance in On Her Majesty's Secret Service in 1969, before returning triumphantly in Diamonds Are Forever in 1971.

The packaging of DECADE I features sketches from memorable Bond films, including Goldfinger (1964), You Only Live Twice (1967) featuring the combat sequence of Little Nellie, and the dummy jet pack worn by Bond in Thunderball (1965).

ABOUT THE RELEASE:
Masterfully crafted by The Macallan's Master Whisky Maker, Kirsteen Campbell, this extraordinary single malt whisky captures the essence of James Bond. The consistent quality of the whisky is showcased across all six bottles in the collection.

THE BOND ARCHIVE:
This exclusive range celebrates 60 years of innovation and showcases the defining characteristics of James Bond and The Macallan. Bond is a modern innovator, constantly evolving and embracing change. The Bond films have become synonymous with ingenious gadgets that aid Bond on his mission to serve the greater good, becoming an iconic element of the franchise's enduring popularity.

Decade I delves into the Bond archives of the 1960s, exploring the era's innovations. The packaging features original sketches, including the storyboard of the Little Nellie combat sequence from You Only Live Twice (1967), the conceptual design of the Interior Fort Knox Set and Laser Room from Goldfinger (1964), and a technical drawing of the dummy jet pack worn by Bond in Thunderball (1965).

The working prototype of the jet pack, known as the "Bell Rocket Belt," was used in the flying sequences of the Thunderball opening credits, piloted by test pilot Bill Suitor. The Bond art department meticulously recreated an exact replica for Connery to wear in the film.
