E&K staat voor Elgin & Kincardine, naar Victor Bruce, één van Alex Bruce zijn voorouders, die zowel de titel 9de Earl of Elgin (nu de oudere broer van Alex) als 13de Earl of Kincardine hield. Hij was de Britse bevelhebber van India en was verantwoordelijk voor de aanleg en modernisering van de spoorlijnen in India.
Alex Bruce, een rechtstreekse nazaat van Adelphi zegt daar het volgende over:
