Single Cask Especially for the Netherlands
This single cask whisky was bottled especially for the Dutch market. If that isn't special enough, it is a barrel that was first used for the famous Caroni rum.
This American oak barrel was first used for bourbon production, where many of these barrels are used only once. The barrel went from the United States to Trinidad to mature the rum that today has an almost mythical name.
The barrel's world tour did not stop here. From Tropical Trinidad it went to warm India to be filled with Amrut whisky. The whisky was distilled from Indian malted barley in August of 2014.
The seven-year-old whisky was then bottled at 60% alcohol in the past year, before it finally ended up in the Netherlands. Only 150 bottles have come out of this barrel! Of course, this bottling has not been cold filtered and no dyes have been added. The amber whisky is characterized by beautiful notes of chocolate and lots of dark fruit. The water of life is extremely pleasant and suitable for both the rum and whisky geek.
