Foursquare Destino is a rum distilled in 2003, initially aged for 12 years in Madeira casks and then for an additional two years in bourbon casks. Bottled at cask strength in 2017, this rum was created in collaboration with Velier. Founded in Genoa by Casimir Chaix in 1947, Velier started as a small, family-run business specializing in wine and spirits import and distribution. In 1986, Luca Gargano, a former representative for Saint James and a passionate rum collector, acquired the company. Gargano began bottling whisky in 1992 and rum in 1996. His legendary bottlings of Demerara rum (Guyana) and Caroni (Trinidad) led him to explore other Caribbean rum-producing regions, including Barbados, Jamaica, Haiti, and Marie-Galante. Velier's rums are exclusively aged in tropical climates, resulting in higher concentration and a significant angel's share. They are typically bottled at cask strength or just below. Foursquare Destino is a limited edition of 2,610 bottles.
