The 1992 is also a prodigious wine. It reveals a Mouton-Rothschild-like bouquet of jammy cassis, toasty oak, and lead pencil aromas. It is a ripe, rich, layered, highly concentrated, full-bodied wine with impressive definition. Its hallmark is great intensity without heaviness - a difficult marriage to attain. It is a splendid example of the quality of fruit that can be achieved from well-tended vineyards producing tiny yields.
Herbaceous, if a touch funky and earthy. Dense and chewy, with subdued dried berry fruit and more evident tannins.
