The 1995 reveals gobs of kirsch and coffee in its nose, along with smoky, toasty, oaky notes. Medium-bodied, with smoky, black currant fruit, low acidity, good lushness, and a layered palate, this is a hedonistic, accessible Haut-Marbuzet to consume over the next decade. This vintage does not possess the depth found in the 1990, 1989, and 1982, but it is an excellent wine.
Beautiful aromas of fresh berries, Spanish cedar and licorice. Full-bodied, with chewy tannins that go into high gear in the finish. Long and exciting. Better and better.
Rene Gabriel rates this wine 18/20 points.
