The Rayne-Vigneau 2007 seems initially unsettled by the performance of the 2006, on first acquaintance more closed and taciturn. Leaving it to one side, over the following 15 minutes it flowers and offers very attractive scents of white peach, apricot and lemon curd. The palate is medium-bodied with a fine bead of acidity. It is a little compact and unresponsive toward the finish, but there is certainly impressive focus. It is just a Sauternes wine that needs to say more, so I suggest another two or three years in the cellar because there is immense potential.
