Tasty success
From the first batch, Billy Walker has been looking for unique barrels for this 10-year-old whisky in his warehouses to make this beautiful Cask Strength whisky. After the appearance of the first batches, this whisky became increasingly known worldwide. The fourth batch was also awarded 'World's Best Single Malt' at the World Whisky Awards in 2021. After the successful seven previous batches, the expectations are mountain high for this eighth release.
The GlenAllachie Cask Strength Batch 8 is a combination of Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry puncheons along with a small amount of Virgin Oak and Rioja casks, bottled at 57.2%. The result is a perfectly well-balanced yet complex single malt that overflows your palate with the taste of sweet raisins and dried red berries. This is all backed up by classic GlenAllachie honey notes!
Tasting Notes:
•Nose: Full of mocha, nutmeg and walnut oil. With notes of heather honey, sweet raisins and dried red berries.
•Taste: Cinnamon, molasses and honeycomb, followed by ginger and dark chocolate.
•Finish: Long, pleasant and hints of nutmeg and fennel in the finish.
