The whiskies of Taiwanese Kavalan are renowned for the incredibly creamy taste they possess. One of the reasons for this is the water used, which originates from the pure sources of the surrounding mountains of the distillery. Additionally, Taiwan's subtropical climate, characterized by heat and high humidity along with winds from the sea and mountains, contributes to the fruity character of the whiskies.
These characteristics provide a perfect foundation for this exceptional Kavalan single cask, which has been aged for 8 years in a bourbon barrel. The creamy and tropical notes are excellently complemented by the soft hints of vanilla and coconut from the bourbon barrel. A true gem of whisky, as we've come to expect from Kavalan.
Barrel number B150723030A has been specially selected for the Dutch market in consultation with Kavalan Whisky's master distiller. The whisky has matured in a bourbon barrel, is 8 years old, and has been bottled at a cask strength of 51.6%. This barrel has been chosen for its distinctive character and excellent quality. The yield from the barrel consists of 161 bottles, with the whisky naturally retaining its color and no cold filtration taking place.
