The 2011 Termanthia is dark and brooding with notes of peat and damp earth, shoe polish and plenty of smoky, spicy notes from the barrel. The palate is full-bodied, but seems a little too extracted with drying tannins toward the end. It seems a bit too extracted and dry. It might improve with time in bottle, as it is too young. Drink 2015-2019.

Rich yet focused, this modern-style red delivers a mouthful of blackberry and currant fruit, framed by coffee and toast flavors, with mineral and sanguine accents adding a savory element. Energetic but not heavy, this leaves a spicy finish.
