Black/purple in color, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Au Sommet is 96% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Petit Verdot coming from Atlas Peak in the western Vaca Mountain range. Background espresso, cassis, earth and graphite are present in this full-bodied, rich and promising wine. It is still young, but should evolve gracefully, while offering immediate drinkability as well as further development over the next 15-20 years.
Wonderful aromas of blackberries, bark, mushrooms and blackcurrants. Full body, fine tannins and a wonderful finish. Wow. Why wait? Even so, this will age beautifully. Cab with a dash of petit verdot.
