A barrel sample of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the deep garnet-purple colored 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Dr. Olmo (Black Label) rocks up with an outspoken crème de cassis, preserved plums and blueberry compote nose with touches of dark chocolate, dusty soil and chargrilled meats plus a waft of yeast extract. Full-bodied, very tightly wound and jam-packed with black fruit and earthy accents, it has a solid backbone of grainy tannins and great freshness, finishing very long. 1,600 cases are expected to be made.
Impressive aromas of dried flowers, crushed blackberries and plums. Some sweet-tobacco undertones. Full-bodied, dusty and juicy with chewy tannins that are supple and savory, combining with the fruit. Flavorful and intense. So structured.
