Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2015 Cabernet Franc Nathan Coombs Estate delivers vibrant blackberries, black raspberries, black cherries and red currant notes with touches of forest floor, pencil shavings and truffles. The medium to full-bodied palate delivers very firm, chewy tannins and a lively backbone, defining the restrained palate and lending texture to the long finish. 210 cases were made.
An intense nose of lead pencil, forest floor, blackcurrants, mulberries, blackberries, dark chocolate, vanilla, peppermint tea and plum essence. The structure on the palate really blows you away, as it offers grippy tannins, vibrant yet well-integrated acidity, tons of tangy fruit and a long finish. Needs time. Best cabernet franc in Napa?
