Robert Parker (94)

The 2022 Pinot Noir Weber Vineyard has kaleidoscopic scents of mixed berry preserves, mossy bark, aniseed, forest floor and wildflowers. The medium-bodied palate explodes with concentrated, fragrant layers of red fruit, citrus and spice. It has finely astringent tannins, fireworks of fresh acidity and a very long, nuanced finish. I love this high-toned, spicy style!

Winespectator (94)

Seductive in texture and elegantly complex, with lovely flavors of raspberry and cherry laced with rose petal and dusky spice notes that dance along the silky finish. Drink now through 2033. 260 cases made.

Vinous (94)

The 2022 Pinot Noir Weber Vineyard bursts from the glass without even a swirl, displaying an exuberant bouquet of black cherry sauce, rum cake, autumnal spice and hints of balsam herbs. This is a beast, succulent and fleshy in feel yet elegant to the core, with depths of ripe red berry fruits that drench the palate in primary concentration. Minty herbs mix with steeped plums through the dramatically long finale, leaving a subtle collection of grippy tannins to linger on. There's so much depth and power under the hood here. Although the 2022 has a more immediate feel, it also has a deep complexity that keeps me coming back.

Decanter (98)

Weber sits at a lower elevation. It's a 100% Pommard, 1983 planting on its own roots. The Weber is typically more savoury and dark. A crushed stone mineral tone with a smoky soy character, the umami character is front and centre in this wine. It almost has a hoisin oiliness. with sesame oil and roasted sea salt. Brooding and contemplative with richness and turned earth and smoky blood orange. Its intensity and complexity mark this as one of the top Pinot Noir that I've tasted as part of the 2022 vintage report.
