Pichon-Lalande's former cellar-master, Monsieur Godin, has taken up residence at Malescasse. Not surprisingly, this property's predilection for turning out angular, tough-textured wines has diminished under Godin's magical hands. In what is undeniably a stern vintage, he has fashioned a round, generous, expansively-flavored wine with an obvious ripe, sweet, blackcurrant fruitiness, and soft tannin in the finish.
