Deep garnet in color, the 2010 D'Angludet gives up scents of sweaty leather, baked plums and tapenade with underlying notions of cassis, wild sage and tar. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is a little rugged and rustic with a chewy texture and slightly drying finish. Tasted 2020.
This has a pure loganberry and damson plum core, with lilac, warm pebble and lightly singed anise notes flittering through the background. Offers well-integrated structure through the finish, with subtle minerality echoing.
Tasted blind. Deep garnet with brick rim. Mature aromas of undergrowth but also lots of sweet, mature black fruits, a bit meaty. Spicy dried fruits though not raisined. Leathery and developed on the palate but still offering pleasure in its spicy complexity. A wine to chew rather than sip. Tasted 2020.
