A wine well worth looking at is the exceptional 100% Sauvignon Blanc dry white made at Chateau Margaux. A beautiful white, it offers aromas and flavors of honeysuckle, lemon butter, and tangerine in a medium to full-bodied, crisp, tangy style. I am not sure it is as good as the brilliant 1999, my favorite Pavillon Blanc over the last decade or so, but it is top-flight stuff.
Very minerally, with lemon and vanilla. Very aromatic. Full-bodied, with loads of fruit, with a wild fruit and lemon finish. A beauty.
Rene Gabriel rates this wine 17/20 points.
