One of the finest examples I have tasted, the 2000 Pavillon Rouge du Chateau Margaux exhibits supple tannin along with big, sweet, luscious black currant flavors intermixed with hints of cedar, spice box, and vanilla. Plump and fleshy, with low acidity, it will offer delicious drinking now and over the next 10-15 years. Don't miss it.
Glorious aromas of freshly picked raspberries, with tiny hints of cream and minerals. Full-bodied, with superfine tannins and a long, long finish of berries and cherries. Super second wine from Margaux. Best Pavillon Rouge I have ever tasted.
Rene Gabriel rates this wine 18/20 points.
