Proprietor Claire Villers-Lurton administers this Pauillac classified-growth property. The 2012 reveals good, sweet tannin, blackcurrant fruit, a nice, soft underbelly, medium to full body, and outstanding concentration and purity. This property is always somewhat under the radar, but this is a very strong effort and should drink well for up to 20 years.
This has a solid core of plum and blackberry coulis flavors that melds with the roasted alder and tobacco notes. The lively iron edge is well-buried on the finish, showing good flesh from start to end.
Rene Gabriel rates this wine 16/20 points.
