The 1989 exhibits a huge, smoky, roasted, exotic bouquet of plums and oriental spices. The wine exhibits surprisingly crisp acidity and plentiful but soft tannins. The formidable level of alcohol and sensationally extracted, multi-dimensional fruit flavors make this a brilliant effort.
A fresh and deliciously young '89, with berry and milk chocolate aromas and flavors. Full-bodied, adding fine tannins and a caressing finish. Beautiful.
Rene Gabriel rates this wine 17/20 points.
