More evolved and sexy, the 2003 La Dame de Montrose possesses a deep plum/garnet color and notes of jammy black currants, cherries, and dusty, loamy soil undertones. Deep and medium- to full-bodied with low acidity and ripe, fully melted tannins, it can be enjoyed now and over the next 7-8 years.
Aromas of ripe fruit and licorice follow through to a full-bodied palate, with velvety tannins and a caressing finish. Very well done.
Rene Gabriel rates this wine 17/20 points.
