A dark ruby color is followed by aromas and flavors of sweaty leather, roasted herbs, spice box, and sweet cherries and plums. This superficial, pleasant, charming St.-Estephe lacks the depth, concentration, and finish of the vintage’s finest wines.
Aromas of currant and fresh flowers follow through to a medium-to-full body, with chewy tannins and a slightly woody finish, but the fruit comes through. Turns long and pretty.
Rene Gabriel rates this wine 17/20 points.
