From a steep hillside with a 75% slope, the 2017 Ried Pössnitzberg Sauvignon Blanc Alte Reben –G STK– is clear, pure and flinty on the concentrated and spicy nose. The palate is finely racy-vital, pure and intense, with a tight structure and ripe and lush fruit that leads to a crystalline, impressively pure and salty, spectacularly long finish with very fine tannins. Spicy, structured and with great grip, this is a food-friendly Sauvignon classic that can compete with the very best white Bordeaux wines. The wine was vinified in 25- and 30-hectoliter oak vats for one year and kept for another six months in stainless steel tanks.
