This tropical 11-year-old whisky, bottled at a cask strength of 56.3%, is exclusive to the Dutch market. It is identified by the Taiwanese term '均衡', which means balanced, and rightfully so as the creamy mouthfeel, almond notes, and overall floral character complement each other perfectly. The subtropical climate in Taiwan, with its blend of heat, high humidity, and winds from the sea and mountains, gives this bottling the fruity character that Kavalan is renowned for. Aged in Port casks, this whiskey also has notes of chocolate and nuts.
Cask number #O100929029A has been specially chosen for the Dutch market in consultation with the master distiller of Kavalan Whisky. This whiskey, matured in Port casks, is 11 years old and bottled at a cask strength of 56.3%. Only 168 bottles were yielded from the cask, and the whiskey retains its natural color without being cold filtered.
In terms of tasting notes, this Single Malt boasts the signature floral character of Kavalan, coupled with notes of nuts and chocolate from the Port cask. The nose presents notes of apricot and nuts, such as almond and macadamia. The taste is oily and intense, with the almond notes reappearing, now coated in a layer of acacia honey. The finish is long and rough, yet well balanced with a floral character that highlights candied fruit.
