Candied hibiscus, raspberry, candied lemon peel. Beautifully supple and silken on the elegant palate. Chalky, rock-dust texture. Stony minerality breaks up the fruit and lets the light in. Luminous. Well structured and nuanced. Long salty finish.
Quite a powerful pinot noir for the 2021 vintage in Baden, but this is still a very cool and restrained wine, the power coming from the tannins and not from alcohol or ripe aromas. A compact and crisp core with plenty of drive, but also quite a pronounced citrus acidity. The aromas need longer than anything else, then after you think you understand the wine the beautiful floral and red fruit notes pop out.
