Fermented at 50% in 1,200-liter oak barrels, the 2015 Schloss Johannisberger Grünlack Riesling Spätlese opens with a very clear and piquant lemon and stony flavor, with yellow stone fruit and lactic aromas (of burnt milk) in the background. Very complex. On the palate, this 2015 Spätlese is piquant and creamy, very fresh and pure, with a remarkable acidity (of nine grams per liter) which balanced the 77 grams of residual sugar perfectly. This is a very finesse-full and stimulating Spätlese with mineral grip and tension. Gorgeous.
