Robert Parker (92)

The 2011 Antiguos Vinedos is produced with Tempranillo from vineyards planted in 1950 that aged for 14 months in oak barrels. Malolactic fermentation was carried out in the barriques. The fruit is ripe, but mixes notes of red and black berries, which are well-integrated with sweet spices and smoke aromas from the barrel. The palate is medium to full-bodied, with plenty of smoky flavors and abundant, fine-grained, slightly dusty tannins that call for more time in the bottle, ending slightly warm. 2011 was a warm year, and it shows in this wine. Drink 2015-2018.

A plush texture carries rich flavors of plum pudding, cocoa, loamy earth and baking spices in this generous red. The ripe fruit is carried by balsamic acidity, while the firm texture keeps the wine focused.?
