The 2001 Napanook (a blend of 71% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Cabernet Franc, 7% Merlot, and 4% Petit Verdot; 3,600 cases produced) exhibits a chocolatey, black cherry, and currant-scented nose with hints of dried herbs, cocoa, cedar, and spice in the background. Incredibly Bordeaux-like, it possesses soft, sweet tannin, medium body, and undeniable elegance.
Pleasantly complex, with a supple texture and pure black cherry fruit that's ripe and polished, with a nice integration of fruit and oak. Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec.
