A creative blend of Syrah, Petite Sirah, Carménère, Malbec, Petit Verdot and Zinfandel, the 2014 Proprietary Red Les Bouquinistes is actually a real steal. This is classic bistro fare, but at a high level. Dark ruby/purple, loads of spice, meat, blood, earth and fruit all combine in a medium to full-bodied, lusty, heady wine that does exactly what a bistro red should do – marry with the food, encourage conversation and give everyone an incremental sense of euphoria.
A rich and fruity wine with blueberries, light fruit and hints of chocolate. Medium body, light tannins and a flavorful finish. Drink now. All here and delicious. 20% syrah, 20% carmenere, 20% petit verdot, 15% petit syrah, 8% malbec and 17% zinfandel.
The 2014 Les Bouquinistes, a new field blend of Syrah, Carmenere, Petit Verdot, Zinfandel, Petit Sirah and Malbec, is a pretty, gracious, mid-weight red. Rose petal, herbs, mint, sweet red cherry, lavender, sage and plum give the wine much of its silky, refreshing personality. This nuanced, mid-weight red is an excellent choice for drinking now and over the next handful of years.
