An exceptionally strong effort from a vigneron, Denis Durantou, who brilliantly works his vineyard and makes fine wines, this dense ruby/purple-colored Pomerol offers up aromas of pure raspberries and cherries, subtle wood, and a hint of earth. It is moderately tannic, medium to full-bodied, intense, and pure.
Blackberry and dark chocolate aromas follow through to a medium-bodied palate, with silky tannins and a pretty, delicate finish. Very nice texture and refinement to this wine. I thought this would have evolved even better in barrel.
Rene Gabriel rates this wine 18/20 points.
