Becoming increasingly austere and a bit dried out, this wine showed a lot of promise early on. It is still very good, but the tannins seems sharper and more aggressive. The wine has a deep ruby color with some amber at the edge. Sweet new oak still dominates the nose, and along with some ripe black currant and cherry fruit, the wine shows an earthiness and a hint of herbaceousness, something that has emerged over the last few years
Rich and elegant, with layers of plum, cherry, anise and currant flavors. Toasty oak adds complexity and finesse, while the finish echoes fruit and toast.
