Deeper in purple but also definitely fresher both in colour and on the nose. This is delicious, really well poised, little alpine strawberries and fresh raspberries, just a touch of acidity, much less in the way of tannins. Medium plus persistence, the sort of Corton which if only it has originally not been classified as grand cru we would have a much greater reverence for.
Cask sample. Notes of framboise on the nose. Good freshness and balance of tannins and subtle oak. Just lacking a bit of complexity and the weight/persistence expected of a grand cru. Hints of spice to finish. (AWH)
