Tasted at BI Wine & Spirits' 10-Years-On tasting, the 2007 Canon la Gaffeliere has a lovely chestnut-tinged bouquet with satisfying, commendable fruit generosity given the growing season, brimming with buxom raspberry and wild cherry scents. The palate is smooth on the entry, quite gamy in quality and curiously reminding me of a fine Stellenbosch Cabernet blend (meant as a complement). I admire the depth and weight of this Saint Emilion
Pretty milk chocolate, earth, mushroom and berry on the nose. Medium- to full-bodied, with good fruit, fine tannins and a fresh finish. Slightly hollow midpalate.
