This superbly-situated estate rarely lives up to its potential, but the 1993-95 vintages appear to be moving in the right direction. The 1995 exhibits a dark ruby/purple color with moderate saturation. A spicy, ripe, richly fruity nose with hints of earth and new oak is moderately intense.
This has a nice briary edge, with a core of cassis, blackberry and damson plum fruit. The solid, chalky spine shows up on the finish, offering a nice range of lightly toasted spice notes. There's good energy here, with a lingering whiff of mint at the very end.
Rene Gabriel rates this wine 17/20 points.
