Developing very nicely in the bottle, the 1978 Talbot has a concentrated, ripe, round, rich, herbaceous-scented, black currant fruitiness, a bouquet suggestive of plums and cedary, toasty oak, a generous texture, and some tannins in the finish. It has just reached its plateau of maturity.
