The 2015 Montrachet Grand Cru was closed on the nose, probably due to it being racked the previous week, though you can tell that there is intensity and concentration locked in here. The palate is balanced with a slightly viscous opening. Good depth of flavor with hints of honey towards the finish, though I discerned more breeding and terroir expression on both Chevalier-Montrachets from Bouchard Père. Maybe the warmth of the growing season is more evident here? Good, but it is not the very best 2015 Montrachet on the block this year.
This is full of butterscotch, peach, honey and floral aromas and flavors, supported by vivid acidity. Still taut and youthful, with light grip on the finish. The terrific aftertaste reveals potential.
