Veronique mentioned that the 2012 Meursault 1er Cru Les Perrieres is one of the first to be picked, constituting one of her most consistent vineyards. “I don’t know what we could wish for more,” she enthused. It already sports a sophisticated, well-defined bouquet. It is taciturn at first. Then upon the sixth or seventh swirl, there is an explosion of intense orange zest and apricot fruit with a touch of almond. The palate is beautifully balanced with wonderful acidity and balance. So suave and complex with superb balance and grace on the finish, this is one of the finest 2012 Meursault Perrieres that I have tasted.
