Pale lemon yellow, with a classy if reticent nose, plenty of promise. The fruit tightens up quickly on the palate though there is also an exotic touch to the fruit. The wine has not yet quite got itself in place, though the classy of the finish suggests that it will arrive in due course.
The 2021 Chassagne-Montrachet Blanc delivers aromas of white flowers, pear, orange zest and nutmeg, followed by a medium to full-bodied, racy and perfumed palate framed by chalky structure and concluding with an impressively long, saline finish. If Moreau can deliver quality like this, with sites like this, in a vintage like this, the future clearly holds great things for him.
