The 2016 Echezeaux Grand Cru has a clean and pure bouquet, a little stoniness at first then blackberry, hints of cassis and blueberry, quite perfumed and floral. Maybe this is more linear than its peers? The palate is medium-bodied with a pleasing succulence on the entry, a keen thread of acidity that binds together a satisfyingly edgy finish. As usual, Anne’s Echézeaux is full of tension but it will deserve several years in bottle.
