Exhibiting aromas of cherries, raspberries, peonies and licorice, the 2019 Bourgogne Pressonnier is medium-bodied, deep and vibrant, with tangy acids, powdery tannins, and a long, penetrating finish. It's the most serious and age-worthy of Roty's regional bottlings.
Discreet wood sets off the earthier and spicier aromas of sauvage-inflected dark berries. There is very good punch and slightly finer texture to the attractively tension-filled flavors that possess a highly refreshing though still firm finish that offers unusually good depth and persistence. Note well though that this is a solidly structured Bourgogne that will require at least a few years of aging first. This too is recommended.
