A deft touch of wood frames the penetrating and wonderfully complex nose of petrol, lemon zest and essence of pear that is even more floral suffused. There is superb power to the big-bodied, stony and concentrated flavors that possess a copious amount of dry extract that coats the palate on the almost painfully intense and hugely long finish. This is a classically styled Chevalier and also one to strongly consider.
2018 is the second vintage of this wine, made from 0.13 ha. This shows more oak and even a touch of volatility. Tense on the palate but does not quite fill the mouth though it does come back behind very nicely. Not quite the fruit weight of the Caillerets.
