A pleasantly fresh nose offers up notes of red cherry liqueur, just turned earth, spice and a whisper of crushed leaf. The agreeably textured and beautifully sleek medium weight flavors are not especially concentrated but they are refined and delicious, all wrapped in a solidly complex and ever-so-mildly tangy finish where the hallmark youthful austerity of a fine Clos de Vougeot slowly emerges.
From 10 different plots, covering most of the Clos. A sound and fairly deep crimson colour. The bouquet offers a relatively dense fresh red fruit, ripe enough to stand up to the structure of the wine. The acidity plays as big a part as the tannins. The fruit stays attractive throughout. Will need time.
