Interestingly, this is the first wine to display any wood treatment and here it's discreet but not invisible on the cool but ripe and appealingly fresh aromas of wild raspberry, red cherry, spice and plenty of sauvage character. The racy and beautifully delineated medium-bodied flavors brim with minerality, indeed it suffuses the complex, compact, serious and lingering finale. This built-to-age effort possesses a highly sophisticated texture and is pretty much textbook Latricières.
No more than medium deep crimson. Savoury strawberry notes, a little bit of liquorice behind, does not quite fill the mouth as well as the Mazis, but still an agreeable fruit at the end. Does not quite kick on all the way through.
