A fine success, the 2020 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Cras (Méo-Camuzet Frère & Soeurs) exhibits aromas of raspberries and cherries mingled with rose petals and loamy soil. Medium to full-bodied, lively and concentrated, it's taut and mouthwatering, with fine depth at the core and powdery structuring tannins.
An airy, fresh and cool nose reflects notes of dark cherry, raspberry, anise and subtle oak influence. The velvety but punchy middle weight flavors also exude evident minerality on the clean, dusty and youthfully austere finale that also is a bit chewy and not especially refined. This is also going to need at least a few years of cellaring to resolve some of the structure.
