The 2021 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is more structured, unwinding in the glass with aromas of smoky berries, sweet spices, plums and orange zest. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and layered, with powdery tannins that assert themselves on the saline finish, it's one 2021 that will reward a bit of patience.
Cask sample. Real depth and interest and a wine I was forced(!) to swallow. Long and rich and exciting with minty notes.
A medium crimson purple in colour. The bouquet is attractive rather than massive. Lovely cherry fruit right through the middle then a firmer finish as the natural tannins of the Clos kick in. Proper length here as well.
