Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2011 horizontal tasting in Beaune. The Latricières-Chambertin 2011 has a natural, slightly tertiary bouquet with brambly red berry fruit that is well defined: masculine and reserved. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannins, fine acidity and a sweet core of cassis and black cherry fruit. It is compact at the moment, but will surely unfold over the next 3-4 years. Good substance here, if not quite the finesse at this precise moment.
